Search requests
When you enter a name or location in a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. We do not retain those search terms in this site’s systems. The provider’s own privacy notice governs its handling of the query.
Messages
If you send an email or a message through a contact feature, we may keep the information needed to reply and manage the request. We do not share that message outside our organization unless a law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process requires it.
Technical Data and Cookies

Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, use the Get in Touch page to request its deletion.
Your Information Choices
You may ask to see personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion where applicable, or object to certain processing. Submit a request through Get in Touch. These privacy requests are separate from requests for government records. Requests to Tompkins County agencies are governed by their procedures and New York Public Officers Law Article 6, commonly called FOIL.

We may revise this notice as site practices or applicable requirements change. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date, and continued use after posting means the updated notice applies.
